By using LabelCheck you agree to what is on this page. The parts that matter most are the limits: what this tool does not check, and the fact that the eligibility conditions for two of the three panel formats are quoted to you rather than applied for you.
1. What LabelCheck is
LabelCheck applies the rounding and declaration rules in 21 CFR 101.9(c) to nutrient values that you supply, and renders the resulting Nutrition Facts panel in the formats 21 CFR 101.9(d) and (j) permit. The online checker is free and unlimited. For a one-time payment you additionally receive print-ready files: three 300 dpi PNG print masters, a PDF placing all three panels at their true printed size, and a change report listing every value that was adjusted with the clause that required it.
2. It is a calculation tool, not legal advice
LabelCheck is not a lawyer, a regulatory consultant or a certification body. Nothing it produces is legal advice, and using it does not make a label compliant or approved. Responsibility for the labels you print, and for compliance with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and its regulations, remains entirely yours.
3. We do not verify your numbers
LabelCheck rounds and formats the values you type. It has no way to know whether those values are correct. They still have to come from a laboratory analysis or a validated nutrient database. Garbage in, correctly rounded garbage out.
4. What LabelCheck deliberately does not check
Serving size
The serving size and servings per container fields are free text and are printed exactly as you type them. LabelCheck does not implement 21 CFR 101.9(b)(5) or (b)(7), and it does not check your product against the Reference Amounts Customarily Consumed in 21 CFR 101.12. It cannot detect a non-compliant serving size. That determination is yours to make.
Format eligibility
The tabular and linear displays are conditional permissions, not style choices. Each is lawful only for packages meeting the conditions in 21 CFR 101.9(j)(13) and (d)(11). LabelCheck prints the text of those conditions with every panel and in the PDF, but it never asks for your package dimensions and therefore cannot tell you whether your package qualifies. Read the condition printed with a format before you print that format.
5. Who you are buying from
Creem is the merchant of record for every purchase. That means Creem, not LabelCheck, is legally the seller. Your purchase contract is with Creem, Creem collects and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT, and the charge on your card statement will show Creem's name rather than LabelCheck's. Creem's own terms apply to the payment transaction, and Creem may issue a refund under its own policies independently of ours.
6. What you may do with the files
The files LabelCheck produces are derived from data you supplied and are yours. You may use, modify, print and commercially distribute them on your own products and packaging without restriction and without attribution, for as many products as you have purchased packs for.
You may not resell or redistribute LabelCheck itself, and you may not present LabelCheck as the certifier or approver of any label.
7. Delivery
Delivery is immediate and happens in your browser: after payment is confirmed, the page rebuilds your files from your own values and offers them for download. Because we store nothing, the address of the delivery page is what returns you to your files. Keep it, or download everything before closing the tab. If you lose it, email us and we will help.
Some inputs produce a panel larger than a Letter page will hold. The purchase button refuses to start a checkout in that case rather than selling you files that cannot be built. If you reach that message, shorten the field it names.
8. Availability
LabelCheck is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue any part of the free checker at any time.
9. No warranty, and the limit of our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, LabelCheck is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that use of LabelCheck will result in a label that any regulator accepts.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or relating to LabelCheck is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the purchase concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including the cost of reprinting packaging, product recalls, lost sales or regulatory penalties.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use LabelCheck to break the law, do not attempt to interfere with the site or the payment verification endpoint, and do not attempt to obtain the paid files without paying for them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you made a purchase are the ones that govern that purchase.
